Hi. First off, great game! Secondly, I am a dev in the discord group called PortMaster. We port various gamemaker, love, godot, and other titles onto Linux handhelds. I have successfully ported your game GUM GIRL Gameboy Edition to my own Linux devices and it looks and plays amazing! I am wanting to ask you if we at PortMaster, may have your permission to distribute your game. We make no money from this and you'll be fully credited as the creator of the game and we will be responsible for the port itself. Without your consent, users will simply have to manually add their own files. Thank you for any thought you may give my request. If you'd like, come visit us on discord🙂
This is incredible! I love how much depth there is to this mechanic and just how great it all feels! I like that you can get a bit more jump by shooting a bubble mid-air. Such a good attention to detail that honestly impresses me :O Congrats!!
Such a fun game! I really liked the music and art style. The game itself was quite difficult if you wanted to collect all stars but it was a lot of fun. A checkpoint or something would be quite nice in the levels but other than that I had a lot of fun playing this game :D
I don't know if you've heard of Game Development World Championship before (gdwc2019) but it's a competition for indie game developers where they can submit their games and it's free! It's great if you want some more visibility for the game and it only takes a couple of minutes to join :)
I really loved the game! :) A couple of things I would have liked to see are:
Checkpoints. This was particularly the case on the last level of chapter 1, and/or a reset button, as when I got hit near the beginning of the level I wanted to reset to full life so I could try the trickier section without worrying . Also instantly dying or teleporting to a checkpoint after falling into a spike pits would be nice as usually it's quite hard to get out so I just ended up dying more slowly. I think either warping back to a checkpoint before the spikes with one heart missing or resetting the whole level would be good (I'd prefer the checkpoint option).
Other things I would have liked to see:
Clearer keyboard controls - there are a lot of possible keyboard configurations but I find it difficult to internalize which buttons do what. I think it would make more sense to group the chew gum and blow gum together and (maybe on k and l) and then map jump either to W/up key or the space bar. There were a few times when I died from jumping instead of blowing gum.
Hearts reset to full on new level (Seems like I currently keep hearts from previous level)
Faster gum chewing time
I found chapter 2 too difficult... And it became frustrating to try again from the start
A small thing it seemed like you should be able to walk under spikes after they shoot up but that also injures you
Anyway those are just my thoughts, all in all I thought it was a cool concept, well executed and a lovely experience ^^
this is a really nice game! love the art, music, and gameplay. i agree with Cracked Walnut, refilling the gum takes a bit too long, and i'd prefer just a little more hang time on the jump (but that would probably require rebuilding the levels to adjust for that). i found a little bug! i bubbled too close to the ceiling and decided to see if i could squeeze above it... i guess not! i got stuck in the ceiling
A lot of fun! A perfect length, well scaled difficulty for me, and a cute readable aesthetic. I have two pieces of feedback. The recall gum ability could be a little quicker or binding it to a different button so I can run and get my gum back at the same time . Even if I didn't collect every star maybe make a cute gum girl splash screen for my victory. Really little things; I know this was for a game jam so I completely understand why you wouldn't have that. Thanks for a nice distraction during work ;) I will be sure to throw you a couple bucks when I get home.

Loved this game. Awesome level design, art, music, and bonus game! One of my favorites.
I love how I FINALLY BEAT THE GAME and it criticized me for not collecting all 52 stars. 🥰🫠
is there a gb rom or is this just for pc and browser
Thank you so very much! Your gem has been published in PortMaster!👾🤖👽

Hey! I loved this colors and concept. Play on gamepad is really amazing and nostalgic =D Great work.
Hard as hell but i did it. Get me crazy couple of time :) Great project bro. It would be so much better to play it on gamepad ;p
Ups! A bug. Got caught in the ceiling here, no amount of wiggling can seem to pry me loose. Otherwise a very enjoyable thing.
Really cool.
Hi, I enjoyed playing this game, and while I wanted to collect all the stars, I decided to just stick with finishing the game at 49 stars :p

i really like it, but tbh down as the recall is really annoying, it would be nice to be able to change buttons.
Sorry! But the Gameboy button limitations made this really tough since one button was for jump and the other was for blowing bubbles.
Made a video

Addictive game and nice concept! I enjoyed it.

Amazing game! This needs expanding upon.

Looks like a really good concept for a puzzle platformer. Some things I'd work on:
- Retracting the gum back takes a bit too much time.
- Jumping feels like a bit too precise, or maybe it was intentional?
The things I liked:
- The graphics were simple and pretty to look at
- The music fit the tone very well
Overall, great job! I didn't get past Stage 2 tho >.<

I love it but I cant get past level 1 because im dumb T^T
Nah you got this. Take your time and be one with the bubble gum.
Difficult & nice game, the music is perfect for a Kirby game.
super nice, love the mix of jump and run with a light puzzle feel.
very well done.
