Hello, I played GumChu Girl's demo and since you asked for feedback, here is mine !
I really had a lot of fun, I thought the game was colorful, dynamic and catchy. I like that it is very simple (in a good way !) but still has a distinct identity !
The single mechanic works wonders as far as I'm concerned, it's very inspiring to see all you can do and all the interactions possible with just one move, and it's very very inspiring as a super-beginner game dev.
At first, I was a bit bothered by the fact that drawing the gum back prevents jumping and slows you (I assume it's to prevent infinite verticality ?) but by the end of my playthrough, I had changed my mind and found it rather charming. I like how it makes the game slightly slower, when most platformers nowadays are rather high-energy.
The music was pleasant and enjoyable, though for me it lacked a bit the genuine, original identity that is distinctive of the game's overall design.
Anyway, these were my thoughts on the game, I very much look forward to see how it pans out and I'm excited to play the full version !
I've just finished the demo and I want to say that was a super cool experience! I love the art and the music but also the character's feeling and the scenes transitions. The part I've most enjoyed was jumping by the clear bubbles in a row and over the roller candy. Excellent job, man!
It took me a little longer because my of recording issues but IT'S TIME foooor #GumChuGirl!! I loved this demo and want the rest of the game. Case_Portman you have outDONE yourself here my dood :D #DoubleThumbsup
A quality product as always Case. It's super cute, and the tutorial work is spot on. Favourite part, the carrots getting slammed by the rolling disc. It's just so satisfying.
The boss battle is simple, but works really well. Got all the stars, moons and the bonus room, and loved doing it. Great work!
Just finished up with playing it, the demo was the perfect length, and really show cased a lot of unique abilities. The gum action built upon itself while the game went on :D. The mechanic feels like a natural extension of the platforming.
Boss was a lot of fun, and the over all vibe and aesthetic is so pleasing! really looking forward to more!!!
